Installing applications on the blackberry

 You can install it in 3 ways
1. Over the air(OTA)
2. Through wire(USB)
3. Desktop IDE

Here are four files types types or extension
    .JAD files: An application descriptor that stores information about the application itself and the location of .COD files
    .JAR files: a JAR file (or Java Archive) is used for aggregating many files into one. It is generally used to distribute Java classes and associated metadata.
    .COD files: A COD file is a proprietary file format developed by RIM that contains compiled and packaged application code.
    .ALX files: Similar to the .JAD file, in that it holds information about where the installation files for the application are located

Method 1: Install an application via OTA,
1.Navigate to the select mobile web site you want to download from,
2.Select the download link with the trackball, or press the “menu” button
3.Go to “get link” At this point, you will navigate to the “install now” or “download” link. Note this can be named many different things.

Enable Unknown Sources
Before attempting a manual installation of apps using the .apk files, you must first allow your phone to install from “Unknown Sources” (i.e. non-Market apps).

To do this, navigate to Menu -> Settings -> Applications and check the box marked “Unknown Sources“.

Method 1 to install the apk file  in android mobile phone:
 Step 1: Install File Manager
Android does not natively come with any method of browsing the data on your SD card, so you will need to install a file manager from a market. There are a large variety of file managers available on Android, but my personal favourite is ASTRO File Manager.
Step 2: Connect the android mobile phone and CPU using USB cable.
Step 3: Copy .apk file to SD card
Once you have ASTRO File Manager installed, connect your Android device to your PC using your USB cable. Mount the SD card and copy over the .apk file you would like to install.
Step4: Install .apk
On your Android device, navigate to the .apk file using ASTRO File Manager and select it.
This will open a dialog box allowing you to install the app. Select “Open App Manager“.

On the next two pages, select “Install” and “Install” again to install the .apk.

Method 2 to install the apk file  in android mobile phone:

Installing app using Dropbox

Step 1: Download the https://www.dropbox.com/ and install it in your machine
Step 2: Register and sign in from this url https://www.dropbox.com/login?lhs_type=anywhere 
Step 3: After installation, You can find the dropbox icon in taskbar near to time & date, right corner
Step 4: Right click on the dropbox icon and click on open dropbox folder.
Step 5: Paste  the apk file in to the dropdown folder and wait for sometime to get sync, once its sync, you can see a green tick mark icon...wait untill you get tick mark icon.
Step 6: Now in your android mobile phone install the dropbox app  from the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dropbox.android
Step 7: Open the dropbox and sign in using the account you have created already
Step 8: You can now see the apps which you shared from your PC
Step 9: Now you can follow the normal installation procedure

How to get the Crash logs of ipad/iphone in MAC?

MAC :
 1. Connect  your ipad/iphone  to CPU of MAC using USB cable
 2. Ensure your device is listed in itunes of MAC machine
3.  Navigate to & fro in the application and look for crash
4.  Crash logs are available in the location:

On the Mac, crash logs are kept at:

~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/

where ~ is your Home folder. Here’s an example:

 You can access the crash logs if you have installed XCODE  SDK in your mac machine
1. open the xcode
2. Navigate to windows- Organiser
3. in the organiser window , look st the left side, where you can find the crash logs  with respect to device name and time stamp

 1. Connect  your ipad/iphone  to CPU using USB cable
 2. Ensure your device is listed in itunes in windows machine
3.  Navigate to & fro in the application and look for crash
4.  Crash logs are available in the location:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Applecomputer\Logs\CrashReporter/MobileDevice/

Note: AppData folder is hidden by default, so here’s how to access it. Get into your personal folder:

FYI: If you are sure about your username you can access the above path from command prompt Run-CMD- enter the path and press enter

 1. Connect  your ipad/iphone  to CPU using USB cable
 2. Ensure your device is listed in itunes in windows machine
3.  Navigate to & fro in the application and look for crash
4.  Crash logs are available in the location:

C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/

<USERNAME> is your login username. Application Data folder is usually hidden by default, so you need to reveal it in the same way as in Vista — by typing in and pressing Enter.

How to install windows mobile application in emulator?
1. Download and install the sdk  from the link http://dev.windowsphone.com/en-us/downloadsdk
2. Navigate to start- All programs- Windows phone sdk - application deployment
3. Select the target as Window phone emulator?
4. In XAP label  click on browse and select the xap  file received from dev team
5. Click on deploy button
6. Application will be successfully installed in your emulator
7.  Navigate to start- All programs- Windows phone emulator
8. you can find your installed application in your emulator.

How to install ipa file in IPAD/Iphone

Tools required for Installing  ipa file in IPAD

How to install ipa file in ipad/iphone through itunes
  1.  Connect the usb cable from ipad to mini mac or CPU
  2.  Open the itunes and ensure the devices is listed  under devices section
  3.  Click once on your device name listed in left side
  4.  Click on apps Under library section
  5.  Just drag your ipa  file from your desktop and put in itune apps
  6.  Now again click on your device -App , you can find your app
 7.  Select the checkbox of the app need to get installed
 8.  Click on sync or apply.
 9.  Wait for a while still it says "complete"

How to install ipa  file from test flight
  1. Just open your testflight mail received from  Dev team in your ipad
  2. Just click on the test flight link it will start installing the ipa file in ipad or iphone.
